Crew Resource Management (CRM)

 What is CRM? CRM was developed for the cockpit of an F- 18 but applies to the factory floor, office space, or corporate boardroom. CRM is a set of training and execution procedures for use in environments where human error can have catastrophic effects. CRM enables quick critical decisions.  How does CRM work? Success occurs when all team members contribute, where those who speak up are respected, where adaptability and flexibility are encouraged, and where common sense trumps dogma. In debriefs, every member must communicate successes and frustrations.  What is the result of CRM? Mission Success. CRM narrows the gap between what “what is now inefficient” and what “should be.”
